He also has one of the best podcasts out there right now: The Jocko Podcast.
If you haven’t listened to the podcast I highly recommend it. It’s a mixture of leadership, combat tactics, philosophy, history, jiu jitsu etc.
To give you an example, his most recent episode was on The Book of Five Rings by Musashi and how his combat philosophy can be applied to our modern day to day lives. Definitely worth a listen.
Aside from the books and the podcast Jocko has a couple of other products I find to be useful.
First, he has an album of audible tracks you can purchase on itunes called Psychological Warfare. These are tracks you listen to during moments of weakness when you need a little kick in the butt. There are tracks for procrastination, getting to the gym, waking up early etc. These tracks are like having a short pep talk with Jocko. I find them to be the perfect little boost when you don’t feel like getting after it.
The other product I’ve found useful is Jocko White Tea.
Although water is definitely my main beverage occasionally I like to drink something with a little bit of flavour or sweetness. And since I care about my health things like sodas and frappuccinos are out. That is why I turn to Jocko White Tea.
Unlike a lot of teas on the market Jocko White Tea is legit. It contains just white tea, hibuscus, lemongrass, dried pomegranate, and natural flavours.
What I like about Jock White Tea is that even thought it’s sugar free (it doesn’t even contain any artificial sweeteners) it still has a bit of natural sweetness to it due to the pomegranate. This is perfect if you have a sweet tooth like me.
The other thing I like about this tea is that it’s a white tea. Unlike green or black tea, white tea is minimally processed and as a result contains more antioxidants. Also, because it’s minimally processed white tea has much milder taste. Don’t get me wrong. Green and black tea are also very good but I just find white tea easier to drink.
Lastly, white tea doesn’t have as much caffeine as green or black tea. This means that I can sip on Jocko White Tea though most of the day and not have to worry too much about it affecting my sleep at night.
I like to drink Jocko White Tea cold. I recommend brewing it and chilling it in the refrigerator. You can then pour it over ice when you’re ready to drink it. One tea bag makes about 8oz of tea.
During the summer season you’ll be looking for ways to quench your thirst. Although water should always be your main beverage occasionally you’ll want to have something a bit sweeter and with some flavour. I highly recommend picking up a box or two of Jocko White Tea. It’s the perfect guilt free beverage. Drink it over ice and be confident in the knowledge that you’re enjoying something that’s actually building your health instead of destroying it.
Here’s to staying fit!
